Vacancies in an NGO


An emerging NGO leader in the gender development sector, headquartered in Abuja and established in response to the high level of gender bias, illiteracy, unemployment and poverty amongst women in rural areas in Africa, is seeking to engage highly experienced and self-motivated individuals with a passion for gender and educational development in Africa to fill the following vacancies:

1. Programmes / Grants Manager
The Programmes / Grants Manager is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of the gender thematic programs in line with the overall Strategic Plan of the organization.

In Addition:
• S/he will provide technical support to the organization’s flagship gender-related programmes across Africa.

• S/he shall actively contribute to define strategies advancing gender work at Pan-African level through research, partnership, alliance building, grants seeking and advocacy initiatives.

• S/he shall provide leadership in cross-learning and knowledge generation for thematic alignment in relation to the organization’s strategic priorities.

• S/he shall provide leadership and technical support in the development and implementation of viable work plans for the organization’s programmes at the overall gender thematic strategies;

• S/he shall identify new funding sources and generate concept notes and proposals and reports in line with the gender thematic strategies.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
A good first degree with minimum 4 years working experience in gender related work and Grants/Fundraising.

2. Administrative Secretary
The Administrative Secretary shall provide clerical, data entry and management as well as administrative support to towards the smooth-running of the organization.
S/he shall help in the coordination and implementation of office procedures and may have responsibility for specific projects and tasks.

Education / Experience:
A minimum of Diploma in Computer Science, Statistics, data management with at least 2 years’ experience in related data management. Also, Experience in quality collection, analysis, dissemination, and use of information for program planning and management.
Experience in Ms. Access database tool management and the full Microsoft Office suite.
